Job summary

The Environmental Program Consultant (NS) role is based in the Fayetteville Regional Office and supports regulatory permitting tasks across OCI programs, including 401 Water Quality Certifications, NPDES, Non-Discharge, and sewer collection systems. You will evaluate permit applications, review facility conditions, and guide applicants through the NPDES process.

Qualifications

• Master's degree plus three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with 401 Water Quality Certifications, NPDES, Non-Discharge, and sewer infrastructure permitting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure applications are accurate and complete per regulations and guidelines.
• Coordinate and respond to inquiries on permits from developers, officials, and the public.
• Provide technical assistance and training to staff and permittees.
• Support other wastewater permitting programs as needed.
• Respond to complaints and discharges related to wastewater facilities and environmental emergencies.
