Job summary

Mesabi Metallics is seeking an Environmental Engineer/Specialist – Waste Management & SPCC to develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs at our Minnesota taconite facility. You will ensure adherence to RCRA, MPCA, and SPCC requirements while supporting safe, sustainable operations.

Responsibilities include managing waste programs, coordinating waste handling, leading SPCC inspections, preparing regulatory reports, and training site personnel on environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental field required.
• 3+ years in environmental compliance and monitoring.
• Knowledge of federal and Minnesota state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage waste management programs ensuring RCRA compliance.
• Coordinate hazardous, universal, and industrial waste handling and disposal.
• Lead SPCC inspections and petroleum storage compliance.
• Prepare regulatory reports and maintain waste records.
• Provide training on compliance requirements.
