Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing Southwest, Calscience in Tustin CA is seeking a VOA GC Chemist I to prepare and analyze environmental samples following EPA protocols. You will perform Purge and Trap GC, evaluate chromatographs, manage backlog, and maintain LIMS data with a focus on accuracy and safety in a busy lab.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in chemistry or related field; 3 years laboratory experience may substitute for a degree.
• 1+ years operating a GC in an academic or production laboratory setting.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English, reading, writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare water and soil samples for analysis by Purge and Trap GC.
• Evaluate chromatography for qualitative and quantitative criteria.
• Monitor and manage backlog workload to meet client program requirements.
• Upload and peer review data using the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
• Perform basic instrument maintenance and repair, including column replacement and ion source cleaning.
• Maintain instrument calibrations in accordance with QAQC requirements.
• Perform general housekeeping within the laboratory to maintain an organized and safe working environment.
• Conduct daily duties in an efficient and safe manner, in compliance with EH&S programs.
• Performing other laboratory duties as assigned.
