Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking an Environmental Test Technician II for its Midland, TX satellite production facility. You will support thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, and acoustic tests, set up test configurations, and help ensure safety and quality compliance.

Relocation is provided to Midland, with opportunities for overtime on a 4th shift schedule. You will work closely with engineers, document test results, and assist in training Technician I personnel to ensure timely, accurate test execution

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience with an associate/trade school degree.
• 3-5 years of relevant hands-on experience in lieu of formal education.
• Experience supporting environmental testing or similar technical operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental testing including thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, acoustic, and related tests.
• Set up and operate test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
• Follow established procedures, test plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Assist in planning and preparing test configurations, fixturing, and instrumentation setups.
• Monitor tests and record data accurately; identify and report anomalies or deviations.
• Troubleshoot basic to moderately complex test issues and support root cause investigations.
• Document test results, non-conformances, and observations in accordance with quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Support maintenance and calibration of test equipment as needed.
• Assist in training and mentoring Technician I personnel.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to support test objectives.
• Provide hands-on support to ensure successful and timely test execution.

Position Overview

We are searching for an Environmental Test Technician II supports execution of environmental testing activities including thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, and acoustic testing. This role operates with moderate independence, contributing to test setup, execution, troubleshooting, and documentation while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Technician II is expected to have a solid technical foundation and may assist in training, as needed.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay: $28.75/ hour based on experience, with overtime opportunities. Higher-level roles are available for more experienced candidates at increased pay.
• Schedule: 4th shift Friday through Sunday, 6PM to 6AM (3x12) with paid lunch and breaks.
• Flexibility: Weekday and weekday night shiftsare also available depending on experience and team needs.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform environmental testing including thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, acoustic, and related tests

What You Bring:

Preferred Qualifications
