Job summary

KMS Solutions, LLC in Newport, RI is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to join the NUWC team. You will support environmental qualification testing, review requirements, lead test conduct, and analyze acoustic and vibration data to ensure system safety and reliability.

The role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering, 2 years of testing experience, and the ability to obtain DoD clearance. Master’s degree and NUWC Newport experience are preferred; strong communication and detail

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline.
• Two (2) years of experience supporting testing and integration.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance and required access to all worksite locations.
• US citizenship or eligibility is required.

Responsibilities

• Support Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT) including Shock, Vibration, Temperature, Humidity, Inclination, Pressure, Airborne and Structureborne noise, and Enclosure.
• Evaluate EQT system requirements.
• Lead test conduct, planning, instrumentation, and data capture.
• Provide acoustic, vibration and shock data processing and analysis.
• Review and develop test documentation including plans, procedures, and reports.
