Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Leander, TX, is seeking an Environmental Test Engineer to join the Launch Integration and Test department. You will help develop test plans, design fixtures, and manage execution of tests for product development acceptance and qualification.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication skills, able to work in a team of engineers and technicians and maintain thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required.
• Knowledge of LabView software.
• Able to interpret hardware schematics and utilize lab test equipment.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• LabView programming and fixture design skills are a plus.
• Experience with MIL-STD environmental testing and screening standards is desirable.
• Experience with range safety and external agencies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with test planning, setup and execution of component testing.
• Author and review test procedures.
• Review finalized test data and report packages for requirement compliance.
• Execute corrective actions.
• Lead test readiness reviews and technical meetings.
• Implement continuous process and facility improvements.
• Collaborate with team to fix issues in test results.

SUMMARY

We are looking for an Environmental Test Engineer to join the Launch Integration and Test department at Firefly Aerospace In this role you will be an integral part of Test Team developing test plans designing test fixtures managing the performanceexecution of tests for product development acceptance and qualification The candidate must be a self starter who works well in a team environment and has excellent interpersonal skills The candidate will form an integral part of a team of engineers and technicians that will be a focal point for the company The candidate will be expected to learn the testing processes apply their knowledge maintain good record keeping and have good working relationships with team members

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with test planning set up and execution of launch vehicle/spacecraft component testing
• Author and review test procedures
• Review finalized test data and report packages ensuring compliance with requirements
• Execute corrective actions
• Drive test readiness reviews debriefs and technical meetings
• Implement continuous process and facility improvements
• Work with the team to identify and fix issues found in test results

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required BS in Engineering
• Knowledge of LabView software
• Able to interpret hardware schematics and utilize lab test equipment oscilloscopes instrumentation DAQ systems
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Desired LabView Programming skills 3 D modeling skills for fixture design
• Experience testing to MIL STD 810G MIL STD 461E SMC S 016 or other rigorous environmental testing and screening standards
• Negotiating compliance and conformance with external governing agencies
• Direct experience with range safety agencies
• Experience with designing test racks and rack enclosures
