Job Description

The Environmental Technician consolidates, treats, stores, packs, transports, and/or disposes of hazardous waste in accordance with environmentally responsible and compliant practices, policies, and procedures. Maintaining detailed and accurate records is essential.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Segregate and package material for transport.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory and storage of hazardous materials according to regulations and policies.
  • Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment for moving containers and loading/unloading trailers.
  • Complete documentation accurately and timely, complying with regulations and policies.
  • Support warehouse lead and assist in daily duties and coverage.
  • Assist in training new employees on dock operations.

Qualifications

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Ability to stand and walk on uneven surfaces for extended periods.
  • Good vision to read labels and documentation; depth perception for forklift operation.
  • Ability to hear warning alarms and chimes.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled environments.
  • Willingness to wear PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, coveralls, and respirator.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments.
  • Basic computer skills for web-based training.
  • Ability to understand and respond in English.
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules.
  • Professional and polite interaction with customers and coworkers.
