Job summary

Kearfott Corporation, a global Aerospace and Defense supplier, seeks an Environmental, Health, and Safety support role to handle hazardous/non-hazardous waste, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain waste logs at our Black Mountain, NC facility. The position emphasizes safety, proper packaging, and team collaboration.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, 3–5 years in manufacturing, RCRA/DOT experience, and a 24‑hour HAZWOPER credential or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing experience.
• RCRA and DOT regulatory compliance experience preferred.
• Hazwoper certification (24-hour) or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Hazardous and non-hazardous waste experience preferred.
• Must be able to work independently with little direction, and as a member of a team.
• US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure waste types properly segregated, regulatory shipment windows met, containers labeled, housekeeping maintained, and logs kept.
• Identify best practices to reduce waste volumes, improve efficiency, and generate cost savings.
• Segregate, label, mark and package waste materials safely and compliantly.
• Collect, pour, transfer, consolidate, repackage and package solid, liquid and sludge material.
• Perform labor-intensive tasks such as drum collection, bulking, and truck loading.
• Transfer waste into containers of different sizes.
• Maintain the 90-Day Hazardous Waste Pad.
• Wear required PPE and follow safety procedures.
• Maintain compliance with EPA, OSHA and DOT regulations.
