Job summary

Kinross is seeking a Technician to operate sampling equipment, vehicles, loaders, and forklifts at The Manh Choh Project in eastern Alaska. You will perform routine sampling, inspections, and opacity readings with minimal supervision, ensuring compliance with permits and EPA guidance.

Responsibilities include collecting surface and groundwater samples, reporting, and coordinating with other departments to support environmental compliance while adhering to safety policies and company procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write instructions, perform simple math, and keep records.
• One year experience in environmental profession preferred.
• Must maintain certification for opacity readings.
• Strong communication and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect waste storage areas, maintenance areas, water basins and camp facilities for compliance.
• Collect surface and groundwater samples.
• Conduct and record monthly opacity readings.
• Complete internal and external reports.
• Provide staff assistance to operation and maintenance personnel.
• Follow safety and environmental policies.
