Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in health and safety or environmental science preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
• Active or expired certifications such as Asbestos Inspector/Project Monitor and Air Sampling.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Training and certifications provided by ECS.

Responsibilities

• Perform industrial hygiene sampling and assessments (asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, IAQ).
• Conduct air and bulk sampling and monitor remediation work.
• Document results and produce daily field reports.
• Interface with site personnel and attend project meetings as needed.
• Obtain relevant certifications as required to perform duties.
• Conduct soil and groundwater assessments as needed.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Perform industrial hygiene-related services, including asbestos, lead-based paint, mold and indoor air quality sampling and assessments.
• Perform air and bulk sampling.
• Monitor remediation and abatement of contaminated or hazardous building materials.
• Progressive learning about field sampling of various media while working both indoors and outdoors.
• Daily communication with other ECS staff, project managers, and jobsite representatives.
• Interface with contractors and other site personnel on project sites daily.
• Attend project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Understanding of relevant field sampling techniques, sample collection, and analytical result reporting.
• Calibration and use of sampling equipment, and documentation of results.
• Additional duties may include report production, daily field reporting, and other related tasks.
• Obtain relevant certifications as required to perform specific job duties.
• Conduct assessments for soil and groundwater. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Two-Year and/or Four-Year Degree in Health and Safety, and/or Environmental Science is preferred. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Active or expired relevant certifications such as Asbestos Inspector and/or Project Monitor, and Air Sampling
• Necessary job-related training and certifications will be provided by ECS.
• If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.
• Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - mileage will be reimbursed.

Skills and Abilities

• The ability to work independently is expected.
• Strong verbal and written skills.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds several times each day and walk on uneven ground through various terrains.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Ability to complete daily field reports detailing site activities and observations with directions and training provided.

Military Qualifications

• The following US Military ranks would qualify for this position:
  • E-4

The expected pay range for this role and location is $22-$25/hour. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
