Job summary

River City Environmental, Inc. in Portland, OR is seeking a full-time field technician to handle diverse work across construction, hydro excavation, stormwater services, septic and sewer, and cleanup projects. A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate non-CDL pump trucks are required.

You’ll join a team with weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and growth opportunities, including an employer-paid insurance plan and 401(k) with match. On-call duties and overtime may be involved.

Qualifications

• A valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record.
• Able to pass background check and drug screen (THC included).
• Ability to hook up and pull equipment and trailers to job sites.

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces.
• Willingness to overtime, weekends, and on-call duties.
• Real ID compliant license within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Plan ahead to ensure the right tools are available and safe to operate.

What You’ll Do

• Tackle diverse tasks across Construction, Hydro Excavation, Stormwater Services, Septic & Sewer, and Restoration/Cleanup.
• Plan ahead, make sure you’ve got the right tools, and get the job done right.
• Operate and support field equipment (hooking, pulling, pump trucks).
• Support emergency responses: be ready, reliable, and ready to roll—your week may include overtime, weekend shifts, or on-call duty.

Requirements

• A valid Driver’s License and Insurable Driving Record (less than three moving violations in the last three years)
• Able to pass Background Check and Drug Screen (that includes THC)
• Ability to hook up and pull equipment and trailers to job sites
• Ability to operate non-CDL pump trucks
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies
• Strong communication skills and ability to properly document job completion information
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and be on call once a month for emergency needs
• Have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and can pass a background check & drug screening (that includes THC).
• License must be Real ID compliance, and if not, obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Can lift 75+ lbs and work in confined spaces safely.
• Write clearly and communicate—document your work accurately.
• Are dependent, proactive, hardworking, and not afraid to get your hands (or boots) dirty.
• Thrive under occasional emergency calls; you’re on board for overtime, some weekends, and one week per month on-call rotation.
