Responsibilities

Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Environmental Technician is to promote and sustain our culture of environmental stewardship. This position will be responsible for monitoring, operating and maintaining critical environmental and operational systems, including the Baghouse, Continuous Emission Rate Monitors, and Water Treatment Plant. The successful candidate will also lead and assist with storm-water management, permit and emission compliance, waste management, radiation detection, spill prevention/control, and overall success of the EHS Department.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to safely work at heights, in confined spaces, and with hazardous chemicals/waste

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year maintenance or environmental experience in water treatment or baghouse.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical knowledge
  • Wastewater treatment license
