Job summary

Madix, Inc. in Eclectic, AL is seeking a Safety & Environmental Coordinator to support production with waste management, OSHA compliance, and environmental procedures.

You will operate forklifts and floor sweepers, coach staff on safety, respond to emergencies, and help enforce E&S policies on the shop floor. Preference for OSHA 10/30, RCRA and HazMat experience; strong communication and organization required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience.
• OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
• RCRA experience preferred.
• HAZMAT experience preferred.
• Water treatment experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Waste management and cardboard recycling.
• Operate a forklift to move materials or products.
• Operate a ride-on floor sweeper.
• Support Production with machine fluids and oil spill cleanup.
• Coach and enforce Environmental & Safety policies on the floor.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
• Back up Safety department for minor calls when necessary.
• Adhere to swing-shift hours if required.

Cardboard Recycling. Operate a Forklift to move materials or products. Operate a floor sweeper with a ride on sweeper. Provide support to Production with machine fluids, oil spill cleanup, etc. Work with leadership to coach and enforce E&S policies and procedures to the work floor. Able to adapt to a flexible, fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be able to perform as a First-Responder for injuries or other urgent situations. Be able to back up the Safety department for minor calls when necessary.Job Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesUnderstanding of manufacturing environment and risks present. Comprehension of Health & Safety OSHA rules applicable to manufacturing. Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills. Ability to use Microsoft Office Products including: Outlook; Word; Power Point; etc. Must be organized. Must have strong computer and presentation skills. Team player. Detail-oriented. Must be able to articulate coaching regarding Environmental procedures. Must be able to respond to after-hours emergencies when necessary. Must be able to comply with swing-shift hours if required.Education and ExperienceMinimum of 3 years manufacturing experience required. OSHA 10 Hour & 30 Hour Certification preferred RCRA experience preferred. HAZMAT experience preferred.
