Job summary

Georgia-Pacific, a Koch company, is seeking a Facility Environmental Coordinator in Dudley, NC to support the plant’s environmental compliance program. The role reports to the Complex Environmental Manager and focuses on environmental permits, plans, and regulations.

Responsibilities include assisting with data collection, reporting, training, and inspections, while promoting Operations Excellence and continuous improvement of the environmental system at the plywood plant and co-located lumber

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical/industrial experience (2+ years) in manufacturing.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments and outdoors.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and willingness to learn site-specific software.

  • Assist with training personnel and implementing the company’s environmental system.
  • Lead as a champion of Operations Excellence by aligning actions with environmental vision.

Your Job

Georgia‑Pacific is seeking qualified professionals to consider for a Facility Environmental Coordinator at our Dudley, NC complex. Reporting to the Complex Environmental Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the environmental compliance program at the plywood plant and co‑located lumber facility

What You Will Do
  • Assist with day‑to‑day environmental compliance requirements tied to applicable permits, plans, and regulations. Activities may include data collection and tracking, preparing reports and presentations, training and coaching employees, monitoring and directing consultant/contractor work, conducting inspections, packaging and shipping waste materials, and collecting environmental samples
  • Assist with training personnel and implementing Georgia‑Pacific’s environmental 7‑Element Risk Management System
  • Lead as a champion of Principle‑Based Management™ and Operations Excellence (OpEx) by communicating and demonstrating how individual actions support GP’s environmental vision and long‑term value creation
  • Participate in the plant’s strategic planning and project review processes, track environmental performance metrics, and support continuous improvement of the facility’s environmental management system
  • Demonstrate a proactive, problem‑solving mindset with a strong sense of urgency
  • Work cohesively and effectively with others while delivering strong written and verbal communication, planning, documentation, organization, and execution across multiple priorities
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Associate degree or equivalent technical or industrial experience (2 or more years) in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment and outdoor environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Programs and willingness to learn site‑specific software
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Environmental Management, or Environmental Science
  • Prior or current experience working at Georgia‑Pacific or Koch company, including familiarity with our systems, processes, and culture
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Experience performing air, waste management, and water field work
  • Working knowledge of North Carolina and federal environmental regulations
