Job summary

LOMA LINDA UNIVERSITY HEALTH is seeking an Environmental Services Technician responsible for waxing, buffing, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, shampooing, and cleaning windows and surfaces across LLUMC, LLUCH, and off-site hospitals.

Candidates should have at least two years of housekeeping experience; floor care experience preferred; CHEST certification is a plus, and strong English communication and basic computer skills are expected.

Job Summary

The Environmental Svcs Technician is responsible for waxing, buffing, sweeping and mopping floors. Vacuums and shampoos carpets and cleans windows, walls, partitions and sinks as needed. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC, LLUCH and our off-site hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience

Minimum two years of housekeeping experience required. Floor care experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of proper use of carpet/furniture extractor, floor buffer, vacuums, buckets, wringers, dust mops, dusting equipment, step ladders, cleaning carts, and spray bottles. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position. Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.

Licensures and Certifications

Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) certification preferred.
