Job summary

UPMC Wellsboro is hiring an Environmental Service Associate to join our Environmental Services team. This full-time, day shift position covers cleaning patient rooms, public areas, offices and equipment to meet hospital standards.

Responsibilities include bed making, replenishing supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and following safety regulations. Acts 34 clearance is required. The role is based on-site at the Environmental Services department.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties.
• Ability to use housekeeping equipment.

Responsibilities

• Make beds following cleaning procedures in patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms.
• Inspect and ensure assigned areas are cleaned and in good repair; report problems to supervisor.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations to ensure adequate supply.
• Clean all assigned areas including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices and equipment.
• Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition; report problems and suggestions to supervisor.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
• Move equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets as assigned.]

7:00am-3:30pm

Includes:

2 weekends on and 2 weekends off. Every other holiday rotation.

Purpose:

Clean all aspects of assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, offices and equipment, to meet Hospital and Department standards in order to promote the quality of care rendered in the environment. Move equipment, furniture, boxes, etc. and remove and hang blinds and curtains.

• Make beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
