Job summary

UPMC Jameson in New Castle, PA, is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Services Associate to join our Environmental Services Team. The role supports a clean, safe environment for patients and staff and upholds UPMC values through teamwork.

This second-shift position runs 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM with rotating weekends and holidays. Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms and public areas, restocking supplies, and following established procedures to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.

Qualifications

• No contact with medications is allowed.

Responsibilities

• Make beds and clean patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms per procedures.
• Inspect areas to ensure cleanliness and report issues to supervisor.
• Replenish towels, toilet paper, and soap across assigned areas.
• Clean patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices and equipment.
• Maintain equipment by cleaning and reporting problems.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Follow safety and sanitation regulations.
• Move equipment and furniture as needed and wash walls/spot carpets.
• Access areas where medications may be stored as required by duties.

UPMC Jameson, a full-service community hospital located in New Castle, PA, is currently hiring a Full-Time Environmental Services Associate to join and support our Environmental Services Team.

This job provides a comfortable and clean environment to meet hospital and department standards for both our patients and employees. Teamwork is an essential part of this duty to ensure that you live up to the UPMC values daily.

This full-time position would work 2nd shift, 2:30PM to 11:00PM shift, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Make beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, report problems to the supervisor.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to assure adequate supply.
• Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices and equipment, following established procedures.
• Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
• Move equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets, etc. as assigned.
• Access to areas where medications, syringes or sharps may be stored is necessary and permitted in order to perform routine tasks as delineated in the employee's job description.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties. Ability to use housekeeping equipment. May in the course of duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Act 34 with renewal
