Job summary

Children’s Minnesota in Minneapolis is seeking an Environmental Services team member to perform daily cleaning tasks in patient and resident rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, and clinic areas in accordance with department standards.

This role emphasizes effective communication with diverse patients and families, strong customer service, and the ability to work independently or in a team; prior housekeeping experience is preferred, and full-time benefits apply.

Qualifications

  • 6 months general housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient and family populations.
  • Demonstrated effective customer service skills.
  • Able to work independently and in a team, using good judgment in completing work assignments.

Responsibilities

Department Overview

The Environmental Services Department provides cleaning and/or disinfecting services in all hospital areas. They are also responsible for the collection and management of infectious and solid waste, moves, set‑ups, used equipment, recycling program, pest control, and environmental maintenance.

Position Summary

Under direct supervision, performs daily cleaning tasks for patient and resident rooms, nursing station, lounges, restrooms, offices, clinic areas, and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with facility standards and objectives.

Experience
  • 6 months general housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient and family populations.
  • Demonstrated effective customer service skills.
  • Able to work independently and in a team, using good judgment in completing work assignments.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full‑time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part‑time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full‑time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on‑call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
