Job summary

BETA Group, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Staff Scientist to join our New England team. You will work on a diverse portfolio of environmental investigations, remediation, and infrastructure projects, split between field and office activities.

May 2027 graduates welcome. You will gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for advancement within a growing, employee-owned firm. Hybrid schedule with potential remote days.

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• 0 to 2 years’ experience conducting environmental investigation, remediation, MCP compliance.
• Familiarity with GPS field instruments and processes.
• Ability to record and reduce field notes.
• Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple assignments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
• Support site investigations and remediation projects under MCP and Rhode Island regs.
• Collect soil, groundwater, surface water, and soil gas samples and assist with drilling oversight.
• Support environmental assessments, site inspections, and remediation projects.
• Analyze field data, prepare GIS maps and figures, and assist with reports and submittals.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, LSPs, and technical staff.
• Maintain accurate field documentation and project records.
• Build technical expertise through mentorship and increasing project responsibilities.
