What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and implement the Department's Product Stewardship Programs related to waste management
- Supervise a team of four staff members and oversee data collection and analysis for waste reporting
- Educate and outreach to municipalities and citizens regarding recycling and sustainability initiatives
- Represent the Department on various regional and statewide waste and recycling workgroups and committees
- Collaborate with various staff across the Department to achieve organizational goals
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Eight (8) years of education and/or experience in environmental science or a related area, including two (2) years of supervisory or program management experience
- At least 15 credit hours of science or engineering coursework
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and stakeholders
- Experience in writing reports and regulations

- Knowledge of product stewardship laws, rules, policies, and procedures
- Familiarity with Maine's solid waste management programs and systems
- Experience in the administration of regulatory programs
- Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze issues effectively
- Experience collaborating with various parties on environmental initiatives
