Delaware Department of Transportation is seeking an Environmental Specialist III to lead analysis of environmental and cultural impacts for state projects and programs. Responsibilities include Archaeological surveys, fieldwork, lab work, and reporting, with coordination under Section 106 and 36 CFR Part 800.

This is the advanced level of environmental specialist work which includes leading and performing the analysis of environmental and cultural impacts of State projects and/or programs and coordination with state/federal agencies.
This position will perform and manage Archaeological surveys within areas affected by DelDOT projects, including research, fieldwork, laboratory work, and technical report writing and reviewing. Duties also include consultation efforts and documentation associated with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The applicant must have experience implementing 36 CFR 800 and be familiar with Cultural Resources Management practices, budgeting, proposal development, and oversight of consultants.
Upon satisfactory completion of department promotional standards and job requirements, employees may be eligible to be promoted to the next level.
