Job summary

Williams is seeking an Environmental Specialist IV to lead mid‑complex projects in air, water and waste. You will develop and maintain environmental processes, assess risk, and prepare regulatory documentation with guidance from senior staff.

Responsibilities include planning, scheduling and cost estimating, submitting permits, performing audits, training colleagues, and mentoring junior specialists to improve systems and compliance. Excellent communication and MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least eight years of environmental experience.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency in regulatory documentation and reporting.

Job description

As an Environmental Specialist IV, you will need functional and technical expertise and skills in areas of air, water and/or waste. In this role, you will run projects and programs of moderate complexity that require a specialized breadth of expertise!
Responsibilities/Expectations:

• Develops, maintains and provides guidance on environmental processes/policies
• Assesses environmental risk, provides recommendations to address risk and participates in or runs the approved course of action, including required regulatory documentation
• Participates in environmental project planning and implementation, including scheduling, cost estimating, preparation of environmental impact assessments and reporting
• Provides guidance and mentors others
• Prepares and submits sophisticated applications to procure environmental permits, renewals, approvals, variances, and other authorizations and coordinate with company partners
• Performs environmental compliance audits and due diligence investigations, as the need arises
• Identifies environmental training needs and provides training
• Develops, recommends and implements improvements for systems and practices in air, water, waste management and/or remediation activities for assigned areas
• Prepares and submits all required compliance reports/certifications; develops and maintains documentation related to environmental compliance programs
• Cultivates relationships between Williams and regulatory agencies
• Interprets applicable federal, state and local environmental regulations and ensures compliance with such regulations
• Other duties as assigned
• Assesses environmental risk, provides recommendation(s) as to the appropriate course of action to address such risk and participates in the implementation of the approved course of action, including development of required regulatory documentation
• Coordinates regular environmental planning, scheduling and cost estimating for either OA support or Business Development/Project support
• Prepares and submits complex applications to procure environmental permits, approvals, variances, and other authorizations
• Develops and maintains necessary documentation related to environmental compliance programs (in one or all of the following media, Air, Water, Waste, SPCC, Hazardous Materials)
• Performs environmental compliance audits and due diligence investigations as necessary
• Develops, recommends, and implements improvements in Environmental Services systems/practices
• Provides guidance to junior level specialists

Education/Years of Experience:

• Required: Bachelor’s degree and minimum eight (8) years’ environmental experience

Other Requirements:

• Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
