Job summary
Ohio Environmental Protection Agency seeks an Environmental Specialist 2 to support the Division of Environmental Response and Revitalization (DERR) at the Central Office in Columbus. Qualifications
- 12 mos. exp. as Environmental Specialist 1 or equivalent.
- 4 yrs. training or experience in engineering, chemistry, physics, environmental science or related field.
- Baccalaureate degree in engineering, chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science, geology or related field.
Responsibilities
- Assess and inspect hazardous waste and remedial action sites for compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Coordinate and monitor cleanup projects across divisions and offices.
- Review technical documents and permit applications; respond to inquiries and enforcement when needed.
- Provide technical expertise on brownfields and voluntary cleanup programs to staff and stakeholders.
