Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Inspector to support the Environmental Manager in daily inspections and compliance activities across our shipyard operations.
The role focuses on ensuring adherence to Federal, State, and local permits and regulations, maintaining hazardous materials inventory, and assisting Production in regulatory compliance while working with minimal supervision.
Under the direction and supervision of the Environmental Manager, responsible for performing daily and weekly environmental inspections and various other tasks throughout the Company's everyday operations that affect environmental compliance.
May indirectly supervise and/ or train subordinates.
Education/ Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalence plus three or more years of environmental work experience desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of ship terminology and environmental regulations desired.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the workday. The employee must frequently lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be physically and medically qualified to wear all required personal protective equipment, as prescribed under Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. The employee must be able to work above ground at heights of a minimum of 50 feet aloft and/ or working from scaffolding and/ or man-lifts while working with machinery; in confined spaces and withstanding extreme heat and cold in an outside climate or confined space.
