Job summary

Grand River Dam Authority is seeking an Environment Specialist to help ensure regulatory compliance across the organization. You will work with multiple departments to implement environmental programs and policies while supporting permit processes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 2 years of environmental compliance experience. The position is based at GRDA's Administrative Center in Chouteau, OK, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Environmental Compliance Manager in managing and completing environmental compliance tasks.
  • Prepare and review reports and compliance documents, including permit applications.
  • Conduct regular site visits to GRDA facilities to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Review, update, and distribute environmental plans across the Authority.
  • Maintain permits, reports, and plans to sustain ongoing compliance.
  • Coordinate with third-party contractors for compliance tasks.

The Environment Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

This position will work with various departments to ensure environmental standards are met and support the development and implementation of environmental programs and policies

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist the GRDA Environmental Compliance Manager in managing and completing the multitude of environmental compliance tasks.
  • Assist the Environmental Compliance Manager in the preparation and review of required reports and compliance documents, including preparation of environmental permit applications.
  • Make regular site visits to the various GRDA facilities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and to answer questions for facility personnel.
  • Assist the GRDA environmental staff in review, updating, and distribution of environmental plans for the Authority.
  • Maintain up-to-date permits, reports, and environmental plans to ensure ongoing environmental compliance across the Authority.
  • Assist the Environmental Compliance Manager in managing third party contractors GRDA uses for regular and irregular compliance tasks.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualities:
  • Strong knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and best practices.

Education, Training, Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology or similar field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in environmental compliance, sustainability, or related areas preferred.
Certificates, Registrations, Licenses:
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, or the ability to convert within 30 days for those with an out of state driver’s license that are an Oklahoma resident.
Physical/Mental Requirements & Working Conditions:
  • This position will include a combination of field work and office duties.
