Job summary

Parsons seeks Environmental Specialists and Environmental Engineers to support federal civil works and infrastructure projects under the IDIQ contract, spanning environmental planning, permitting, compliance, site assessments, and remediation nationwide.

Responsibilities include NEPA document preparation, regulatory coordination, field environmental sampling, and ensuring adherence to Environmental Protection Plans across pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases.

Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Planning, or related field.
• 5–12 years of related experience; junior staff 3+ years.
• Experience with NEPA documentation, environmental planning, permitting, compliance, and impact analysis.
• Experience supporting federal facilities, infrastructure, construction, investigation, or remediation projects.
• Knowledge of applicable environmental laws, regulations, and permitting requirements.
• Strong writing, communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% for junior staff.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and GIS or data-management software.

Responsibilities

• Determine applicable federal, state, and local environmental requirements, including NEPA review and permitting needs.
• Prepare and review NEPA documents, environmental studies, technical analyses, permits, regulatory correspondence, and compliance reports.
• Conduct environmental screenings, site assessments, and impact analyses for civil works, infrastructure, facility, and construction projects.
• Track projects through the NEPA and environmental permitting lifecycles.
• Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies; installation personnel; project managers; utilities; contractors; and other stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance on environmental regulations, Department of Defense policies, permit requirements, and compliance strategies.
• Support environmental compliance programs, stormwater management, waste management, and construction environmental controls.
• Review project-specific Environmental Protection Plans and verify compliance during pre-construction, construction, and post-construction activities.
• Identify and support the management of contaminated soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, and other contaminated media.
• Support PFAS investigations and remediation, military munitions response, and other hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste projects.
• Perform environmental sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, and sediment, as applicable.
• Prepare work plans, UFP-QAPPs, closure reports, sampling plans, technical memoranda, briefing materials, and site assessment reports.
• Perform geological, hydrogeological, hydrochemical, GIS, mapping, and environmental data evaluation tasks.
• Support site approval packages and coordinate required documentation with installation personnel.
• Maintain environmental compliance actions, milestones, regulatory reporting requirements, and performance metrics.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and support multiple concurrent task orders, including projects at geographically dispersed locations.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring
