Job summary

Fastenal is seeking a full-time Environmental, Social, and Governance Analyst to partner with business leaders in shaping ESG policies and reporting. You will define metrics, build controls, and monitor KPIs while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Flexibility may follow onboarding, with a goal to advance Fastenal's CSR and ESG initiatives. The role supports cross-functional efforts across the organization and external reporting to key rating and influencer bodies.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Pursuing degree in Business, Communications or sustainability field OR relevant work experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
• Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment

Responsibilities

• Implementing and maintaining various aspects of the ESG and CSR program
• Partnering with leaders and departments to manage CSR/ESG policies, programs, practices, training and goals
• Developing relationships with community organizations where Fastenal operates
• Establishing, measuring and reporting data-based KPIs for CSR/ESG improvements
• Assisting with stakeholder engagement to strengthen commitments and disclosures
• Assisting with external CSR/ESG documentation for large customers, investors and industry influencers
• Researching and preparing data responses to stakeholder inquiries, questionnaires and audits
• Assisting with CSR/ESG submissions and scores with influencers (CDP, SASB, EcoVadis)

Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm

OVERVIEW:

Working as Full-time Environmental, Social, and Governance Analyst, you will work closely with business leaders to help craft policies and programs to help formalize Fastenal's internal approach to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define reporting metrics, create reporting controls, and monitor other critical KPIs. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Implementing and maintaining various aspects of the organization's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and corporate social responsibility (CSR) program
• Partnering and coordinating with leaders and departments to manage key aspects of Fastenal's CSR and ESG policies, programs, practices, training and goals
• Developing relationships with community organizations where Fastenal maintains significant operations
• Establishing, measuring and reporting on data based Key Performance Indicators to guide the company's CSR and ESG improvement efforts
• Assisting with the engagement of relevant internal stakeholders to strengthen Fastenal's commitments and disclosures
• Assisting with the development of documentation for external CSR/ESG stakeholders, including large customers, investors and CSR industry influencers that build Fastenal's reputation
• Researching and preparing data responses addressing external stakeholder's inquiries, questionnaires and audits
• Assisting with the management of Fastenal's submissions and scores with key CSR and ESG influencers, such as CDP, SASB, EcoVadis, etc.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

• 18 years of age or older
• Possess or are working toward a degree in Business, Communications or a sustainability related field of study OR possess relevant work experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite

• Knowledge of sustainability and CSR principles in a corporate environment
• Prior experience with CSR reporting frameworks
• Demonstrate a strong aptitude and passion for sustainability issues, disclosure practices and industry wide trends

COMPENSATION:

The base pay range for this position is $45,000 - 55,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
