Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking an Environmental Services Training Manager to build and lead a system-wide training and workforce development program that enhances caregiver engagement, performance, and patient care.

This leadership role shifts focus from day-to-day operations to strategic learning, leveraging instructor-led, simulation-based, and digital formats to elevate Environmental Services across our health system.

Qualifications

  • Experience designing and delivering instructor-led and digital learning programs.
  • Experience leading onboarding, coaching, and competency validation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of LMS and e-learning content development.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing onboarding, orientation, and ongoing professional development programs.
  • Creating engaging digital learning content, including e-learning modules and educational resources.
  • Delivering instructor-led, simulation-based, and hands-on training that builds caregiver confidence and competency.
  • Standardizing training, competencies, and educational materials across the health system.
  • Utilizing data, inspection results, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Managing Environmental Services education within the Learning Management System (LMS).

Position Overview

Environmental Services Training Manager

This newly created leadership role offers the opportunity to transition from the day‑to‑day demands of operations into a strategic position focused on workforce development, innovative learning, and organizational performance.

  • Improve Environmental Services inspection performance through education, coaching, and competency validation.

  • Utilizing data, inspection results, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Managing Environmental Services education within the Learning Management System (LMS) while serving as a trusted coach and subject‑matter expert.
What You’ll Bring

We’re seeking an engaging, collaborative leader who combines Environmental Services expertise with a passion for developing others.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Progressive Environmental Services leadership experience, preferably within a healthcare environment.
  • Experience designing and delivering instructor‑led and digital learning programs.
  • Experience creating e‑learning content and utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS).%
  • Knowledge of Environmental Services operations, infection prevention, and regulatory standards.
  • Experience leading onboarding, coaching, competency validation, or workforce development initiatives.
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and change management abilities.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Education, Environmental Services, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
Hourly Pay Range

$23.85 – $35.78

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
