This role provides support for regular, terminal, and isolation cleaning, ensuring compliance with standards in hospital specialty areas such as Operating Rooms, CATH Labs, GI Labs, VARU, Pharmacy Lab, Vascular, and Delivery Suites. Responsibilities include proper waste removal and transport, use of UV light devices, and container management. Good customer service and interpersonal skills are essential as the role interacts with staff, patients, and visitors. Training will be provided for specific duties.

Core Responsibilities and Functions

  • Perform restroom and patient room cleaning following protocols for different types of cleaning.
  • Follow infection prevention protocols, select proper chemicals, and use PPE correctly.
  • Maintain cleanliness of walls, doors, glass, furniture, and floors.
  • Properly remove and manage waste streams including bio-hazard and pharmaceutical waste.
  • Use UV light devices safely and effectively.
  • Replace waste containers and liners appropriately.
  • Exhibit positive customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Participate in team projects and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Document daily tasks and adjust to staffing needs.
  • Use Epic system for bed and patient flow management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all hospital policies and standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Some experience preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English.
  • Complete departmental training within 30 days of employment.
