Intermountain Health in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking PRN swing shift housekeepers to perform general cleaning and disinfection across the facility. The role requires standing for long periods, bending, and handling supplies while meeting Joint Commission standards.

The position offers a 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM schedule with up to a 10% shift differential and 0 hours weekly as needed, typically 2–3 days per week.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department.
  • Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience. (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
  • Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
  • Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
  • Handles and cleans up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint commission, and OSHA standards.
  • Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)).
  • Maintains work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.

PRN SWING SHIFT POSITIONS (3:00PM - 11:30PM) This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.

Pay Rate: Based on Experience. Will be eligible for up to 10% shift differential due to working the Swing shift.

Shift Details

PRN (0 hrs/wk) Shift will be on Afternoon / Evening (3:00pm -11:30pm), PRN will be as needed, however most PRN caregivers work 2-3 days a week (16-24 hrs/wk) to cover leaves, call outs, and short staffed days.

Additional Details

Needs to be able to adapt to different situations. Deal with different personalities and situations. Incumbent needs to be comfortable working around chaos and being watched but also able to keep themselves motivated when not being directly supervised. This is a very physical job and incumbent will be expected to stand/walk for 8 hours constantly.

Will also need to be able to bend and get down and up easily. Needs to have good hand dexterity and be able to bend and lift loads. Needs to have good vision and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs Frequent interactions with customers require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Pay Range

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $17.68 - $22.99
