Job summary

Intermountain Health, Logan Regional Hospital, is seeking a PRN environmental services associate to perform general housekeeping tasks across the facility. Shifts include swing options, typically 12:00pm–8:30pm, 3:00pm–11:30pm, or 5:00pm–1:30am, with 0 scheduled hours and 1–3 shifts weekly as department needs dictate.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift and bend, and attention to detail while maintaining sanitation and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated communication skills differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals and following written and/or verbal directions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet department needs.
  • Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
  • Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
  • Properly dispose of infectious waste and trash.
  • Handle and clean up emergency spills per guidelines and OSHA standards.
  • Follow infection prevention practices including hand hygiene and PPE procedures.
  • Maintain work and storage areas following safety policies.

Job Description

This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.

  • Pay Rate: Depending on experience
  • Shift Details: PRN (as needed by the department to help cover shifts) Will be working the swing shift and hours could be 12:00pm to 8:30pm OR 3:00pm to 11:30pm OR 5:00pm to 1:30am. Shift time will be based on department needs. Most PRN caregivers work 1-3 shifts per week.
  • Located at Logan Regional Hospital Environmental Services Dept.
  • Additional Details: Will cover ALL areas of the facility, may be asked to carry department work phone and vocera throughout shift. Daily assigned areas may vary depending on staffing. Previous Cleaning experience preferred but not required.
  • We are seeking a reliable caregiver who is a team player, punctual, hardworking, flexible, self‑motivated, and brings a positive attitude to every shift

This is a very physical job and incumbent will be expected to stand/walk for 8 hours constantly. Will also need to be able to bend and get down and up easily. Needs to have good hand dexterity and be able to bend and lift loads. Needs to have good vision and attention to detail.

  • Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Physical Requirements
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs
  • Frequent interactions with customers require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set‑up and use
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set‑up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
