Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in Saddle Brook, NJ is hiring an Environmental Services Technician (EVS) / Housekeeping to maintain clean, safe patient areas and common spaces. The role supports patient recovery and visitor satisfaction through thorough cleaning of halls, rooms, and surfaces, with per diem scheduling and weekday/weekend shifts.

The compensation is $19.30 per hour plus shift differential.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience required.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keep halls, stations, waiting rooms, and patient rooms clean to support patient recovery and visitor satisfaction.
• Report repair issues and assist in maintaining the physical plant."
• Keep floors clean and safe by mopping; clean metal trim and equipment; wash walls and beds as assigned."
• Strip, wax, and buff floors with safety precautions as directed."
• Replenish supplies including soap, towels, and toilet tissue.

Housekeepers / Environmental Services Technicians (EVS) help provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere in our hospitals. In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery and visitor satisfaction by keeping the halls, stations, waiting rooms, and patient rooms clean.

• Assists in maintaining the quality and appearance of the physical plant by reporting repair issues and needs on a daily basis or as needed.
• Keeps floors clean and safe by dust mopping and wet mopping as necessary.
• Cleans and polishes all metal trim, furnishing, and/or equipment as necessary, as well as washes walls, windows, and beds as assigned.
• Strips, waxes, and buffs floors as assigned using safety precautions to properly carry out the procedures.
• Assists in moving furniture as requested. Replenishes supplies, including soap, towels, and toilet tissue, as well as other disposable items.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous housekeeping experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous Hospital EVS experience preferred.

Per Diem Requirement: Must be available to work Six (6) shifts per Six (6) week schedule; Three (3) must be on the Weekend (Saturday's or Sunday's).
