Environmental Services Technician II - Full Time 2nd Shift

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician II to join our team on a full-time basis for the 2nd shift. The role involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within the hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scrub, strip, polish, and refinish floors using appropriate equipment and supplies. Operate various cleaning equipment, including ringers, vacuums, electric floor machines, and sweepers.
  • Clean or sanitize areas following emergency spills as requested.
  • Analyze floor or carpet conditions to determine proper cleaning techniques following department processes.
  • Maintain hard surface floors and carpets according to department standards.
  • Complete all job assignments timely and satisfactorily, exercising initiative to seek additional tasks when possible.
  • Use and maintain cleaning equipment in good repair, keeping the work area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Dispose of waste timely to ensure hospital cleanliness, including hazardous, medical, and pharmaceutical waste following hospital protocols and training.
  • Collect and transport soiled linen, and manage waste disposal, including recycling and operation of waste compactors.
  • Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction by providing courteous service, maintaining confidentiality, and exceeding expectations.
  • Utilize AIDET communication techniques with patients and staff, and resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively.
  • Support departmental functions such as arranging and relocating furniture, completing terminal cleans, and cross-training for discharge room and OR cleaning duties.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and in-services, complete required training, and pursue professional growth opportunities.
  • Maintain attendance and punctuality according to hospital policies, planning ahead for days off and submitting requests as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; 1-2 years of housekeeping experience preferred. Basic computer skills are a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to operate small electrical equipment and provide excellent customer service. Effective communication skills in English are required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, climb, and lift throughout the shift. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance; lifts over 35 pounds require equipment or assistance.
