Job description

Join to apply for the Environmental Services Technician I - Part Time 3rd Shift role at Advocate Health.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Clean and disinfect assigned areas by washing walls, doors, ceilings, windows, furniture, fixtures, appliances, floors, and equipment with appropriate cleaning solutions following specific procedures and schedules.
  2. Operate various cleaning equipment following departmental procedures.
  3. Use chemicals and solutions according to departmental policies.
  4. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
  5. Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction by using AIDET, resolving conflicts constructively, and maintaining a courteous attitude towards patients, families, and staff.
  6. Follow procedures for patient discharges, including cleaning beds and rooms thoroughly with appropriate germicides.
  7. Select and transport cleaning materials and supplies to work areas.
  8. Replenish supplies and manage waste and linen collection in accordance with procedures.
  9. Follow infection control policies, safety regulations, and departmental procedures.
  10. Handle chemicals safely, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
  11. Move, arrange, and clean furniture and equipment as needed.
  12. Attend mandatory training and meetings, complete required certifications, and pursue professional growth.
  13. Maintain proper attendance and punctuality, requesting time off in advance as per policies.
  14. Perform physical tasks including walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 35 pounds, with assistance or equipment for heavier lifts.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.

Skills: Basic computer skills, ability to operate small electrical equipment, excellent customer service, effective communication in English.
