Job summary

Intermountain Health Layton Hospital is seeking a part-time Night Housekeeper to support the EVS department. Shift is 10:00pm–6:30am with rotating weekends and holidays, totaling 32 hours per week.

You will clean and disinfect patient areas while following Joint Commission and OSHA standards. The role requires flexible scheduling and strong communication, with preferred experience in professional housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated communication skills to differentiate color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department.
• Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience. (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
• Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
• Handles and cleans up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint commission, and OSHA standards.
• Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, PPE usage).
• Maintains work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety

Job description

Night position (10pm - 6:30am)

This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.

Shift Details

• Part-Time (32 hrs/wk) on Nights (10:00pm - 6:30am), will include rotating weekends, and assigned holidays

• EVS Dept at Layton Hospital

Additional Details

• Will work throughout the facility in different assigned locations daily, will help with the Emergency Room, Operating Room, Office Building areas, lobbies, and patient discharge rooms, etc. May be asked to carry the department phone as needed.

Qualifications

• Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Maintains work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs
• Frequent interactions with customers require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
