Job description

Job Title: Environmental Services Technician - Housekeeper

Description: The Environmental Services Technician - Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and servicing assigned areas, including rooms, common areas, laundry, and employee work areas at the nursing home.

Pay: $15.45 - $17.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain effective communication with all individuals.
  • Promote a positive image of the organization in the community, aligning with our mission, vision, and values.
  • Perform cleaning tasks in assigned areas, including disinfecting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, waste removal, and cleaning furniture, windows, stairs, doors, bathrooms, and linens.
  • Cross-train to work in all community areas.
  • Perform periodic cleaning tasks such as wall washing, curtain washing, vent and blind cleaning.
  • Clean up accidents, spills, blood, and body wastes.
  • Operate cleaning equipment like floor buffers and vacuums.
  • Be aware of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all cleaning areas.
  • Follow all safety codes and protocols, including fire, tornado, and disaster procedures.
  • Understand and properly use chemicals, disinfectants, equipment, and supplies.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling blood and body fluids, following universal precautions.
  • Adhere to rights agreements and report violations.
  • Perform only trained tasks and operate equipment with proper instruction.
  • Maintain a calm attitude when interacting with residents and their families.
  • Maintain good attendance and take scheduled breaks.
  • Work cooperatively with all disciplines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
