Job summary

Sagewood is hiring an EVS Technician/Janitor to join our evening housekeeping team in Phoenix, AZ. Compensation ranges from $19.00 to $21.00 per hour, with a full-time schedule of 5 days per week from 12:00pm to 8:30pm.

The role requires attention to cleanliness of carpets and floors, general custodial tasks, and safe operation of cleaning equipment. Flu vaccination is required; join a community-focused senior living provider near Mayo Clinic and Hospital.

Qualifications

• Must understand and follow instructions in English.
• Experience in hard floor and carpet care is preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; role involves operating a golf cart.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness and neatness of carpets and floors throughout the community; perform custodial tasks during evening hours.
• Operate vacuum and cleaning equipment; assist with other housekeeping duties as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and collaborate with team to maintain a welcoming environment.
• Adhere to scheduled hours and maintain professional conduct around residents.

As a EVS Technician you will be responsible for the cleanliness and neatness of all carpets and floors within our community in addition to other custodial tasks during the evening hours.

Who You Are

• Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively in English.
• Previous experience in hard floor and carpet care is preferred; but not required.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record required, as this role involves operating a golf cart.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and solvents, with a demonstrated commitment to safe handling practices.
• Willingness and ability to learn proper cleaning techniques and equipment care procedures.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team in a structured work environment.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to completing tasks accurately and on time.
• Can handle multiple tasks and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Moderate to heavy physical effort 95% of the workday. Must be able to stand and walk long distances up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to stoop and work from a kneeling position; perform repetitive bending, reaching, and stretching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. independently. Must be able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. over tiled and carpeted surfaces over long distances. Must be able to operate a vacuum, work in confined spaces around furniture and breakable objects, and have constant contact with residents. May be exposed to communicable diseases including influenza, HIV and Hepatitis. May be exposed to unpleasant odors, high heat levels, and institutional cleaning chemicals.
