Job summary

Mercy Hospital Perry is seeking an Environmental Services Technician for the evening shift (2:30 PM–11:00 PM) to perform cleaning and sanitation tasks across the facility. The role supports infection control and regulatory standards to promote a safe, healing environment for patients and staff.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior hospital EVS experience, with the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.

Qualifications

• Preferred Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Prior Hospital Environmental service experience and ability to follow written and verbal instructions; handle manual tasks.
• Physical Requirements: ability to push/pull and lift 50 pounds, prolonged standing and walking, and ability to bend, kneel, twist and squat.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the healthcare facility.
• Help ensure infection control standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Preferred Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Prior Hospital Environmental service experience. Prior work experience following written and verbal instructions. Previous experience with performing manual tasks. Prior experience working with the public; customer service.
• Physical Requirements: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
