Job summary

Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare in Staunton, VA, seeks an EVS Tech/Housekeeper to uphold a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors in a trauma-informed psychiatric residential program.

You will perform daily cleaning in assigned areas, restrooms, and resident rooms, maintain stocked supplies, and comply with health and safety procedures. CPR/First Aid and de-escalation training are provided; hospital health standards apply.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR/First Aid Training and Verbal De-escalation Crisis Intervention Training (training provided during new hire orientation).
• Must meet basic health requirements of hospital without restrictions.
• Must possess physical stamina to stand the majority of shift and to lift and move equipment and supplies.
• Physical demands require dexterity, good vision, ability to walk, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Previous hospital experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment with aptitude for attention to detail.
• Reflect behavior, attitude, and appearance appropriate to the position and be supportive of the facility and division philosophy, goals, and objectives.

• Clean and sanitize common lounge areas, nursing stations, service areas, offices and school building according to schedule and established procedures which attend to furniture, floors, light fixtures, vents, glass doors, etc.
• Clean restrooms and residents' rooms using the appropriate germicidal solutions.
• Maintain orderly, clean, and stocked custodial closets and cleaning carts, assuring that doors are kept locked from resident access.

Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare is located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley -- a region best known for its natural beauty -- in the charming city of Staunton, Virginia. We provide trauma-informed psychiatric residential treatment to adolescent males who are experiencing complex emotional, behavioral, and educational difficulties. Our programs are specifically designed for youth with psychiatric disorders and co-occurring intellectual disabilities. We also specialize in working with young men who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. We are a 42-bed facility with a program that prepares these young men for return to a home, a less restrictive environment, or to independent living. Our primary focus is on encouraging constructive change and personal growth, learning positive ways to get appropriate attention, improving behavior choices, developing a sense of responsibility for actions, learning problem-solving skills, and developing thinking patterns that support positive relationships.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Previous experience required
• Previous hospital experience is preferred
• Must possess demonstrated knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment with aptitude for attention to detail
• Reflect behavior, attitude, and appearance appropriate to the position and be supportive of the facility and division philosophy, goals, and objectives

EDUCATION

• High school education or equivalent is preferred
• Must be able to read and write

Pay is Hourly (bi-weekly) and is commensurate with education and experience.
