Part Time

2 days a week - 4 hours
Every other weekend - 7am-3:30pm

Weekend and Holiday Rotation

Starting pay rate: $17.00/hr + pay for experience

General Summary

Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other areas of the hospital.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Performs general cleaning tasks to maintain offices, hallways, and other areas.
  • Cleans and disinfects fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.
  • Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment, and dust mops floors. Polishes and cleans fixtures in utility rooms and bathrooms.
  • Wet mops rooms, halls, stairways, and public areas.
  • Cleans fixtures, tops of windows, door frames, and high areas using a ladder.
  • Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials.
  • Removes waste and soiled linens from work areas and places them in designated bags or containers.
  • Assists in hanging and taking down drapes and dividers for cleaning.
  • IF ASSIGNED TO A PATIENT CARE UNIT: Performs terminal cleaning of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants; follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
  • IF ASSIGNED TO A PATIENT CARE UNIT: Receives supervision from nursing staff and Supervisor-Environmental Services.
  • IF ASSIGNED TO A PATIENT CARE UNIT: Responds to call lights if in immediate area.
  • IF ASSIGNED TO A PATIENT CARE UNIT: Maintains cleanliness of work areas and patient rooms.
  • IF ASSIGNED TO A PATIENT CARE UNIT: Ensures patient rooms are stocked with necessary items prior to admission.
  • IF ASSIGNED TO A PATIENT CARE UNIT: Communicates with patients and families to promote comfort and notifies care team of requests.

  • Adheres to policies, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Participates in training and meetings.
  • Provides excellent service, fosters teamwork, and practices fiscal responsibility.
