Job summary

Providence Swedish Edmonds is seeking a hospital environment cleaner responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control across patient, staff, office, clinic, surgical or visitor areas.

This role requires proficiency in basic and advanced cleaning techniques, safe handling of chemicals, and routine stock of supplies, with competence in computer use to access work orders and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Grade school education with on-the-job training.
• Prior housekeeping experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintain hospital environments with a high level of cleanliness and infection control across patient, staff, office, clinic, surgical or visitor areas.
• Demonstrate proficiency in basic and advanced cleaning techniques and supply stocking.
• Handle and dispose of medical waste safely and in line with regulations.
• Operate computer systems for work orders and safety protocols.

Job description

This position is a member of a multi-disciplinary team that maintains the physical environment of the hospital at the highest level of cleanliness, both from an appearance and infection control standpoint.This position is responsible for continuously demonstrating proficiency in both basic and more complex or advanced cleaning techniques and supply stocking that would be used in patient, staff, office, clinic, surgical or visitor areas.Able to demonstrate proficiency in ability to work in areas that require advanced cleaning techniques such as Surgery, Labor & Delivery, NICU, Emergency Room (on shifts/situations, campuses where caregivers work in multiple areas) and Floorcare.

Interaction/contact with visitors, patients or staff can vary from limited to high.Consistently and routinely demonstrates both skill and knowledge in the safe use of chemicals, equipment, cleaning techniques and infection control methods necessary to maintain the departments established quality standards.Is knowledgeable and demonstrates competence in the safe handling and removal of medical waste, inclusive of hazardous, regulated, infectious, recyclable, and innocuous (regular) waste.Is knowledgeable and able to demonstrate competence in computer use with high level of frequency required.
