Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services team member to perform thorough cleaning and maintenance of patient areas following infection prevention standards. The role involves chemical handling, room turnover, and coordination with departments for special projects, ensuring a safe and clean hospital environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and prior cleaning experience; training in EPIC, Xenex UV light, and DOT-certified waste handling is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cleaning experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas including furniture, tile, fixtures, windows, sinks, tubs, and mirrors.
• Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
• Maintain EVS closet, EVS cart and equipment in order; report safety hazards.
• Replenish paper, soap supplies, and hand sanitizer.
• Move furniture and equipment following safety procedures.
• Mix and store chemicals with correct dilution; use PPE as required.
• Assist with special projects and department communications.
