Summary:

The Environmental Services Technician maintains high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility. Responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas, waste removal, sanitizing, stocking, and organizing. Follow standard work processes, infection prevention standards, proper chemical handling, and use personal protective equipment. Shift: 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., including every other weekend and holiday.

Job Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Clean and disinfect patient rooms, floors, offices, conference rooms, equipment, furniture, common areas, and waiting rooms following infection prevention standards.
2. Collaborate with departments to meet patient and operational priorities, ensuring safety and quality outcomes.
3. Work independently or in teams to meet system standards.
4. Use required personal protective equipment per infection prevention protocols.
5. Handle hospital-approved chemicals and disinfectants, adhering to dwell times.
6. Manage various waste types in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
7. Support hospital mission, values, policies, confidentiality, compliance, customer service, and ethical standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to read, write, and understand English

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, pulling) and lift up to 25 pounds without assistance

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Potential exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents
• Occasional exposure to moving parts, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards
• Possible exposure to sharps and instruments
