Position Highlights:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions:

1. Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas to include, but not limited to:

1. Dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures
2. Washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and light fixtures
3. Sweeping, scrubbing and refinishing floors
4. Vacuuming and shampooing carpet
5. Re-stocking restrooms
6. Replacing light bulbs
7. Reporting repairs

Most of the work is indoors but may assist with outdoor cleaning including parking lot, windows, and roof. Various cleaning activities may include the use of a ladder.

1. Heavy contact with cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers and finishes.

1. Removes waste by:

1. Collecting and transporting soiled linen
2. Emptying trash containers
3. Changing sharps containers
4. Transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors
5. Recycling material
6. Emptying cigarette receptacles in smoking areas

1. Keeps equipment clean and orderly and reports equipment failures or other mechanical issues to maintenance staff.

1. Maintains safe working environment and provides quality service by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, infection control guidelines, and meeting departmental quality standards.

1. Attends all required in-service education and training classes including safety update programs to maintain technical knowledge.

1. Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.

Qualified Candidates:

1. Preferred: High School diploma or GED equivalent
2. Preferred: One year experience
3. Can prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner
4. Can operate equipment
5. Can establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers

Work Environment:

1. Performs repetitive work according to set procedures
2. Stressful, fast paced
3. Works in contaminated, isolation, construction and renovation areas
4. Occasionally works in extreme temperatures and around unpleasant smells
5. Exposure to individuals with various degrees of mental, physical conditions and illnesses
