Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services' Mission Regional Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a safe, clean environment by disinfecting patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas. This is a full-time night-shift role at Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, TX.

The EVS Tech will handle waste disposal, restock supplies, clean floors and surfaces, and respond to urgent cleaning needs, including potential travel between facilities as required.

Qualifications

• One year of knowledge within acute care hospital environmental service techniques, practices and procedures preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas to prevent the spread of infections.
• Properly disposing of medical and hazardous waste according to hospital protocols.
• Restock supplies like gloves, masks, and cleaning materials in various hospital areas.
• Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, and other surfaces using specialized equipment and chemicals.
• Respond to urgent cleaning needs such as spills or contamination incidents and communicate promptly using phone, handheld radios, pagers, and other devices.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness within the hospital and adjacent buildings, which may require traveling between facilities independently.
