Job summary

Bayley-Senior-Care-Corp-1 is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper/Laundry Aide to perform housekeeping and laundry duties in assigned areas of our facility, ensuring cleanliness to health standards. You will operate laundry equipment, stock linen, and assist with general cleaning in resident rooms and public areas.

Weekend and holiday availability is required. A High School diploma or GED is preferred, plus knowledge of laundry equipment and at least 6 months of institutional cleaning experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean, mop and sanitize rooms, hallways, restrooms and other areas to meet health standards.
• Vacuum carpets, clean upholstery and draperies using appropriate equipment.
• Empty wastebaskets and dispose trash; transport to disposal areas.
• Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
• Keep storage areas and carts stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Replenish supplies such as linens and bathroom items.
• Work independently or as a team to maintain high cleanliness; coordinate with other departments.
• Store chemicals securely and follow safety procedures.
• Follow directions for chemical use and equipment care.
• Respond to emergency clean-ups and set up for meetings or events.
• Notify supervisor of maintenance needs.
• Adhere to safety precautions and report unsafe conditions.

Description

Performs housekeeping/laundry duties in assigned areas in accordance with established cleanliness standards. Cleans furniture and equipment, sanitizes required areas, and collects/disposes of trash. Responsible for cleaning resident rooms, offices and public areas according to established policies and procedures. Operates laundry equipment, sorts soiled linen, delivers and stocks linen, maintains linen inventory. Available as required on weekends and holidays.

1. Cleans, mops and sanitizes rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas so that health standards are met.
2. Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers.
3. Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
4. Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
5. Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
6. Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items.
7. Works independently and as a team to accomplish tasks and ensure the facility is kept at a high level of cleanliness. Interacts with other departments when necessary to enhance work flow.
8. Responsible for cleanliness and storage of chemicals in locked compartment and custody of assigned keys.
9. Knows where to obtain information regarding chemicals, follows direction in use and care of chemicals and equipment.
10. Responds to emergency clean-ups, moves light furniture, cleans glass, and and sets up for meetings, special events and other tasks as required.
11. Communicates with supervisor conditions needing maintenance
12. Adheres to all safety precautions and reports to supervisor or appropriate personnel, any unsafe conditions.
