Job summary

Good Samaritan in Grand Island, NE is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a safe, sanitary environment in patient and resident areas while following infection control and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include cleaning floors, restrooms, corridors, and common areas, using appropriate equipment, and supporting laundry tasks as needed. The role requires physical stamina and good customer service in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas following infection control and safety guidelines.
• Clean floors, scrub, wax or polish surfaces, and assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• Wear proper protective equipment and keep storage and equipment clean and organized.
• Possess ability to lift/move up to 40–50 lbs and stand for long periods.
