Job summary

B Positive Plasma LLC is seeking an Environmental Services Tech to maintain safety and cleanliness of the facility. The role reports to the Center Manager and may receive instruction from other managers or floor supervisors on site.

Responsibilities include cleaning, disinfection, proper waste disposal, and stocking supplies. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and may involve travel to nearby centers for training or staffing needs. High school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Housekeeping experience preferred but not required.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as described in the job.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning of public areas, donor beds, and ancillary areas to maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Clean and disinfect assigned areas using approved procedures.
• Properly dispose of infectious/biohazard waste in accordance with SOPs and regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of the biohazard waste room and storage areas.
• Restock supplies in all donor areas and assist with stocking/unstocking deliveries.
• Communicate issues to center management and assist with shipments as needed.
• Willing to travel up to 25 miles for training or support at other centers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description

The Environmental Services Tech will operate under the direct supervision of the Center Manager, and at times will take instruction from other managers, and floor supervisors on site. The Environmental Services Tech is responsible for the safety and cleanliness of our facility and is required to understand the proper handling and disposal of biohazard waste through the compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, state regulations, and the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Manual guidelines and any other applicable regulatory standards. This position is exposed to hazardous materials and a variety of infectious diseases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (the following list is intended to be a guideline. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned):

• Perform cleaning of public areas, donor beds, and ancillary areas, to ensure a clean, safe and attractive environment for staff, donors, and visitors
• Cleans and disinfects assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
• Uses cleaning chemicals properly
• Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious/biohazard waste and trash throughout the facility
• Maintains cleanliness of the biohazardous waste room
• Maintains work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety
• Uses supplies appropriately and effectively
• Restock supplies in all donor areas
• Assist with unstocking supplies, distribute deliveries, and breakdown cardboard throughout the facility
• Communicate issues to center management, and/or other necessary parties
• Assists in shipment of product from the center
• Available to travel up to 25 miles to other facilities for training or assisting other center's staffing needs.
• Other duties, as assigned

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school degree or GED required.
• Housekeeping experience preferred but not required.

PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Read computer screens, procedure manuals and other documents.
• Hear doorbells, alarms, telephone, and other mechanical devices.
• Work confidently while being observed during frequent quality inspections.
• Work in walk in - Subzero freezer(s)
• Ability to lift, pull, tug up to 50 pounds to stock supplies and/or move to support donors.
• Regularly required to use hands and fingers, to handle & feel objects, tools, and controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Vision abilities required by this job, including close vision.
• Required to stand for extended intervals, walk, climb and balance; stoop, kneel and crouch.
• Physical ability to operate equipment used that may require repetitive motion and manual dexterity.
• Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) required such as eyewear, lab coats, and gloves.
