This full-time position involves cross-training across hospital areas, handling routine disinfection, waste disposal and linen delivery, and responding to spills or emergencies as needed. Shift coverage includes weekend rotations.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks in assigned areas of the hospital, including disinfecting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming and waste disposal.
• Cross train to work in all hospital areas and clinics.
• Complete periodic cleaning such as wall washing, drapery/curtain washing, vents and blinds.
• Disinfect surgical areas and equipment, dispose of hazardous waste and needle boxes.
• Respond to emergencies as a runner and clean up spills or bodily fluids when needed.
• Deliver and stock linen, gloves and needle boxes to departments and clinics.
• Operate floor cleaning machines, buffers and vacuums; follow MSDS and safety codes.
• Maintain knowledge of chemicals, disinfectants and proper use across hospital settings.

Applies safety procedures and precautions as appropriate in clinical setting and with material handling and disposal. Works collectively within the department to ensure that the facility is clean and safe for visitors, patients and staff. **POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES*** Perform various cleaning tasks in assigned area of the Hospital or Clinics.
