Job summary

Select Medical is seeking an Environmental Services Technician (EVS)/Housekeeping in Madison, WI. Per diem/PRN schedule with a compensation of $19 per hour.

You will help maintain a clean and safe hospital environment, handling patient rooms, offices, hallways and common areas while following established cleaning protocols. Responsibilities include sanitation, order, and appearance of the hospital, with tasks such as dusting, mopping, restocking supplies, and making beds with fresh linen.

Qualifications

• Minimum housekeeping experience required.
• Preferred hospital EVS experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean environment in assigned areas including patient rooms, offices, nurse stations, lounges and common areas.
• Ensure sanitation, order and appearance of the hospital.
• Perform light manual cleaning tasks according to schedules and procedures.
• Clean furnishings, floors and equipment with appropriate cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
• Make beds with fresh linen and replenish supplies as needed.

• Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas, which may include patient rooms, offices, nurse’s stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators and lobby areas.
• Responsibility for the overall condition of the hospital, including sanitation, order, and appearance.
• Performing light manual work, ensuring that routine housekeeping tasks are being performed according to established schedules and procedures.
• Cleaning assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors, and equipment with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.
• Using dust cloths and the vacuum cleaner to dust window sills, blinds, floors, and furniture; emptying ashtrays and trash buckets; arranging furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
• Making beds with clean linen in prescribed manner; scouring and polishing sinks, tubs, mirrors and similar equipment; replenishing supplies of soap, towels and other dispensable items.

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous Housekeeping experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent preferred.
• Previous hospital EVS experience preferred.
